One night, when I was ten years young, I was thinking on death. It had come to me fully that I would die. That this world would one day spin, people would eat, breathe, laugh, frown, dance, love, (in other words, Live), and I would not be here to see it.
While the adventure of discovering the next world is somewhat exciting, there is still so much to see and learn in this world. I'll admit that it is frightening to die while there is still knowledge to be gained and experiences to be had. Yet, my desires, like everyone else's in existence, will not stop my life from ending just because I am not ready. I will eventually depart. No longer exist. Die.
So I decided that if I was going to die, I would do so on my own terms. This removed the fear and uncertainty of death.
When trying to choose how I would face my departure, I could only think of one way that would be adequate. That would leave me with pride and satisfaction. That would allow me an honorable Death without regret.
I would die in battle.
Fighting for reasons, for purposes that are not only worth fighting for, but, if necessary, worth dying for!
However, what would those reasons be? Fighting for the sake of fighting is causing pain on others for your own amusement. I would never be able to face myself or my family and friends living in that fashion. So, I decided that, through all my life to my final fight, I would uphold and defend my True Family and my ideals; Freedom, Justice, Truth, and Honor. Ideals will not let you down if you don't let them down. Each is as important as the next and alongside Love and your True Family, are the best things to live by, to fight for and to die fighting for!
I am twenty-six now and my mind has not changed. I know I will die. But, I will go down fighting, and I will not go easy! No! I WILL NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT!
